The Ghost Openings, a collection of poems by Sheryl Noethe, is published by Grace Court Press. Noethe's poems take the reader from her native Minnesota to New York, Paris, Idaho and finally to her current home in Montanta. After a "high impact collision with childhood' Noethe tells stories of rerecovering the lost self. These poems are about deafness, aging, incest, family casualties, and humor-- which is the saving grace, a great dark laugh in the midst of the most dire situations. The poems--rowdy, vibrant and full of stories--admit the possibility of a second wind, of a change in the light, of surviving, and of the discovery that we are not as hard-wired as we may think we are. Imagination, humor, love and good luck can re-draw the brain. |
